Community Clean Up
Children in the BEOF’s “Say Yes to Literacy” Summer Camp set off on a scavenger hunt on Friday with a little help from some of our local businesses. The children are learning how to be “Environmental Champions”. After reading “I Can Save the Earth”, the children ventured out to find some recyclable objects which were donated by the Bayonne Diner, E-Nails & Spa, Orsini Custom Tees, Dunkin’ Donuts, and 7-11. They then used these objects to create an art project. They also were able to meet some people from the community. Thank you to all that participated!
Liberty Science Center
As a way to wrap up this year’s theme of “Bayonne, It’s Our Community,” Say Yes to Literacy camp recently spent the day at Liberty Science Center visiting exhibits such as “Energy Quest” and “Our Hudson Home.” They had a blast! Thank you to the PSE&G Sustainable Neighborhood Foundation for sponsoring the trip.
