Anthony Segarra is a seasoned financial and leadership professional with nearly 40 years of experience across both the corporate and nonprofit sectors, bringing a wealth of expertise, strategic insight, and a deep commitment to impactful service. Born and raised in vibrant New York City to hearing-impaired parents, Anthony developed a strong sense of perseverance, compassion, and responsibility from an early age—qualities that continue to shape his leadership and mission today.

Anthony’s educational journey began at Fordham University’s Rose Hill Campus in the Bronx, NY, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. He later earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration and Management from Centenary University, building a solid foundation for his career in both financial management and executive leadership.

His corporate career began with an entry-level role as a Mutual Fund Accountant Assistant, where he quickly proved himself through hard work and dedication. Over the years, he advanced into senior roles, including serving as a Senior Executive Mutual Fund Portfolio Analyst for 12 years at a prominent mutual fund organization. He then spent nearly two decades at a well-known financial management firm, where he worked closely with senior executives, honing his skills in financial analysis, compliance, and long-term strategic planning.

In 2015, Anthony transitioned into the nonprofit sector, joining the Bayonne Economic Opportunity Foundation (BEOF) as Chief Financial Officer. In this role, he successfully integrated financial controls, strengthened operational efficiency, and ensured compliance with grantor guidelines—all while upholding transparency and fiscal responsibility.

Today, as Executive Director of BEOF, Anthony brings not only his financial expertise but also his visionary leadership and personal passion for service. He leads with heart and purpose, prioritizing economic opportunity for underserved populations and advocating for expanded services based on the evolving needs of the community. Anthony actively engages with local residents, listens to their concerns, and builds strategic partnerships with organizations, stakeholders, and elected officials to bring lasting change.

With an unwavering belief in the power of community, Anthony is working to expand BEOF’s impact in critical areas such as housing support, food access, workforce development, youth empowerment, and senior care. He is also committed to spreading awareness about the foundation’s mission, inviting partners and supporters to join in what he considers a life’s calling—one rooted in his own upbringing in a household that faced many challenges, yet was filled with strength and love.

Whether in boardrooms or on the ground, Anthony Segarra leads with integrity, vision, and a deep sense of purpose, striving each day to create a more equitable and hopeful future for all.
