Anthony Segarra is a seasoned financial professional with nearly 40 years of experience in the financial industry. Born and raised in vibrant New York City to hearing-impaired parents, Anthony has developed a deep sense of perseverance and dedication throughout his life and career.
Anthony’s educational journey began at Fordham University’s Rose Hill Campus in the Bronx, NY, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. Building on this foundation, he pursued further studies and obtained a Master’s degree in Business Administration and Management from Centenary University.
His career in finance commenced with an entry-level position as a Mutual Fund Accountant Assistant, where he quickly distinguished himself through hard work and determination. Over the years, Anthony ascended through the ranks, assuming progressively senior roles in compliance and ultimately serving as a Senior Executive Mutual Fund Portfolio Analyst for 12 years at a prominent mutual fund organization.
Following this successful tenure, Anthony transitioned to a role at a renowned financial management firm, where he spent 18 years working directly with senior executives, gaining invaluable experience in financial analysis and management. His strategic insights and financial acumen were further honed during this period.
In 2015, Anthony brought his wealth of expertise to the Bayonne Economic Opportunity Foundation, where he assumed the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO). In this capacity, he applied years of experience and analytical tools to integrate essential financial controls into the foundation’s operations, significantly enhancing its fiscal management and sustainability.
Anthony’s responsibilities as CFO included overseeing budget development and ensuring compliance with all grantors’ requirements. His meticulous attention to detail and proactive approach ensured that financial resources were effectively allocated and utilized in accordance with grant guidelines and organizational objectives.
Throughout his career, Anthony Segarra has exemplified dedication, leadership, and a commitment to excellence in financial management. He is known for his strategic vision, analytical prowess, and ability to navigate complex financial landscapes while maintaining the highest standards of compliance and transparency. Anthony’s extensive experience and contributions continue to make a lasting impact on the organizations he serves.
